Dinner & Auction Fundraiser, 2024

A huge thank you to all those that attended our inaugural Dinner and Auction Fundraiser on March 27th. What a great night, and what better way to launch our new Supported Employment Service!
We’re sure you’ll agree it was a delicious 3 course meal thanks to Andy and his amazing team at Regatta Bar & Eatery, and MCd perfectly by Angela Bloomfield.

It was our privilege to be able to tell you more about the work that Project Employ does, introduce you to some of our graduates and interns, and share their inspiring stories of training and employment success with you.

Wasn’t local singer Nathan Fry great? Don’t forget to book him for your next event! Although it was a real shame TrueBliss were unable to join us in person as planned, having Megan Alatini zooming in live from Australia was an unexpected treat.

Thanks to the very many generous businesses and individuals that donated items, the silent and live auction were so much fun, and we hope you are now enjoying or planning to enjoy the weekends away, cooking lessons, theatre tickets etc that you successfully bid on. Shane Cortese definitely worked his magic and encouraged us all to dig deep.
The only auction item that didn't reach reserve was the 1998 framed, signed All Blacks v South Africa 50th test match jerseys. This item is still available to buy, so please contact sarah@projectemploy.nz if you are interested.

We would like to thank everyone that attended, donated items and sponsorship, and/or gave up their time to ensure the event ran smoothly. We still have a few bills to pay, but are very happy to let you know that together we raised a staggering $30k.

On behalf of the Project Employ Board and team, thank you for making our fundraiser the success that it was, and for choosing to support neurodiverse young adults to become ready and gain meaningful, community-based employment.
